Meet Carol Smith (Manelli Bochelli)

My name is Carol Smith, but I am considering using the pen name Manelli Bochelli. I’m a young-at-heart mother who loves life and believes that every day is a gift. My roots are in Texas, but I live in California. I love to travel, and one of the favorite places I’ve been is the Palace of Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors (note the main header photo).

I will be posting about my journey into publishing, a few of my favorite things, and my life as I live it. I hope you will find something within my posts that entertains, informs, or inspires you.

  1. I would love to hear how you’re doing and how your story has progressed.

    • Thank you for asking. Actually, I had a private consultation last summer with an editor at the SCBWI Conference in LA. She really liked it and gave me some pointers how to make it more marketable. I have since taken the manuscript to schmoozes and have revised it a gazillion times. I truly believe it is now ready to send to an agent, and I’m planning on sending it tomorrow. 🙂
I haven’t been on here due to a plethora of life changes, a trip to Europe, and retirement a few weeks ago, but I am ready for a new career!
How about you? What have you been up to? Any changes, special challenges, awesome successes?

      • Hi! Wow, sounds like you’ve been beyond busy! I’m so happy your manuscript is ready and you’re sending it out. Hopefully, you’ve heard something back by now. I was at the LA conference this past summer too. I wish I’d known you were there, I would have loved to catch up. Are you planning on going to the Temecula retreat this year?

        Congratulations on your retirement! 😃

  2. Woohoo!!!!
